KETCHUM, ID – April 7, 2025 – The Sawtooth Botanical Garden, located 5 miles south of Ketchum, Idaho, will not only celebrate its 30th year of showcasing native and cultivated plants that thrive in high elevation and the five biomes for South Central Idaho, but also the 20th anniversary of SBG’s Garden of Infinite Compassion and the 30th anniversary of the SBG’s annual Garden Tour – showcasing the most beautiful private gardens in the Wood River Valley.

The Sawtooth Botanical Garden was founded in 1995 by a small local group of passionate gardeners and
environmentalists with generous support of the Global Environmental Project Institute. This small group was
able to secure a long-term lease for a five-acre site, build a community building with a solar greenhouse, and
begin their dream of establishing a Public Garden.

Today the Sawtooth Botanical Garden continues to evolve into a full-fledged public botanical garden with
gorgeous plant displays, original art installations, opportunities for community gatherings and educational
programming, and a place for personal reflection and peaceful enjoyment.

The Garden of Infinite Compassion was created in September 2005 to honor the visit of His Holiness the 14th
Dalai Lama to the Wood River Valley. A contemplative garden, it is a place of both inner and outer repose; it is
a place where we abandon the chatter of our minds and the distractions of our lives to enter the serenity of
nature and find the calm of a quiet mind. The Tibetan prayer wheel at the focus of this peaceful space is one
of two of its kind in north America as it is blessed by the Dalai Lama.

SBG’s slate of summer events is scheduled as follows:
• Daffodil Mother’s Day Brunch | May 10
