The Standards of Excellence in Plant Collections Management developed by the Plant Collections Network serve as a “Compass for Progress” in all public gardens. These Standards are intended to be inspirational rather than prescriptive, and readily scalable to any size organization as well as adaptable to different types of public gardens. These Standards of Excellence can be applied broadly to a garden’s entire plant collections program, or focus on a specific high-priority collection.
