Announcing the debut of the website www.pugetsoundgardens.org, designed to serve as a resource for information on public gardens in the Puget Sound area. It is not a comprehensive list, but a welcoming open gateway for garden lovers to explore.
The site was created, by local garden advocate Sue Nevler, in direct response to multiple garden closures and resulting difficult financial consequences brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The beautiful website (designed by Spiderlilyweb.com) is rich in destinations, maps, and links to horticultural connections in the Puget Sound region and beyond. Inspiring quotes from a wide range of horticultural enthusiasts familiar with these gardens circulate through the site.
A pop up photography gallery gives insight into how artists and photographers view special aspects of these varied gardens as they change through the seasons.
The site, appropriate to our times, specifically welcomes all visitors looking for education, beauty, healing, and peace, to delve into the diversity of public gardens in the Pacific Northwest region. All are welcome when the gardens reopen (check individual websites). These public spaces will require generous financial support to recover successfully. www.pugetsoundgardens.org is a stepping stone to welcome everyone down garden paths old and new.
