Portland Japanese Garden's International Japanese Garden Training Center is now accredited by the American Society of Landscape Architects as an approved LA CES (Landscape Architecture Continuing Education System) provider. This means that licensed landscape architects who need to satisfy state requirements for continuing education can do so by completing Training Center programs in Japanese garden arts. "This is a wonderful validation of our educational programs," said Kristin Faurest, Training Center director. "Not only are they unique in the world, but they're acknowledged as a valuable educational resource by one of the most prominent organizations for landscape professionals out there. We're very pleased to serve the professional training needs of landscape architects as well as other landscape professionals out there."
The Training Center is a 2018 recipient of the APGA Award for Program Excellence.
The Center is accepting applications through March 1 for its April 25-27 Design Intensive and through March 10 for its June 8-14 Waza to Kokoro: Hands and Heart seminar in Japanese garden arts.
