NORFOLK, Va., May 21, 2026Norfolk Botanical Garden (NBG) announces appointment of Ashleigh Maggard as new Chief Development Officer, bringing more than 20 years of nonprofit leadership experience in philanthropy, strategic partnerships and community engagement to the organization.

Maggard joins NBG from the Hermitage Museum & Gardens and has built a career advancing philanthropic initiatives and fostering community impact across Hampton Roads. Her leadership has contributed to transformational organization growth and recognition, including involvement in eMorts honored through the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Hampton Roads Outstanding Nonprofit in Philanthropy award.

A recognized leader in the nonprofit sector, Maggard was previously named a Hampton Roads Top Forty Under 40 recipient for her professional achievements and community impact. She currently serves as a board member for the AFP Hampton Roads and contributes to advisory initiatives with Old Dominion University and George Mason University. She is also a Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE).

As NBG continues to expand its reach and impact, Maggard will lead eMorts to strengthen philanthropic support, deepen community relationships and advance initiatives including The Garden of Tomorrow Campaign.
