Montgomery Botanical Center (MBC) now serves as Programme Office for the Cycad Specialist Group (CSG). Comprised of experts in biology, conservation, and horticulture, the CSG brings together world cycad expertise to advance conservation.
This official host relationship was formalized by a Memorandum of Understanding between the IUCN Species Survival Commission and Montgomery Botanical Center, on June 5, 2015. That agreement sets an important precedent – the first Specialist Group formally hosted by a botanic garden.
As the Programme Office’s first official action, Montgomery launched an updated website for the CSG.
