“Sandy Shapiro has been appointed executive director of the Miami Beach Botanical Garden. Shapiro, a resident of Bay Harbor Islands, is a longtime board member of the the Miami Beach Garden Conservancy, the nonprofit organization that manages the garden. She is also a volunteer and leader of the Miami Beach Garden Club, currently serving as the club’s co-president.
Shapiro will lead the garden’s staff of six employees, oversee maintenance and improvements to the 2.6-acre botanical garden, and lead marketing, membership and fundraising initiatives.
