As the Development and Communications Director, Kathryn will lead the comprehensive fundraising and communication strategies as the Preserve takes on more responsibility with the recent gift of the Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Garden from the estate of David Rockefeller. "The Preserve is extremely fortunate to have Kathryn joining our team. Her strong background in donor cultivation and external communications allows us to grow these important areas of our operations," said Rodney Eason, CEO at the Land & Garden Preserve.
Kathryn is joining the Preserve after 10 years at Berwick Academy in South Berwick, Maine where she served as the Director of Alumni and Stewardship, responsible for alumni fundraising and communications.. Kathryn is a Maine native, with a bachelor’s degree from New York University.
The Land & Garden Preserve is a 501(c)3 non-profit on Mount Desert Island based in Seal Harbor and Northeast Harbor, Maine. The Preserve's mission is to share the beauty of historic lands and gardens on Mount Desert Island. The lands consist of over 1,200 acres between Acadia National Park and the Atlantic Ocean. The gardens are comprised of Asticou Azalea Garden, Thuya Garden, and the Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Garden.
