Job Description

Ecoresilience Solutions is seeking a Sales & Marketing Manager to support the launch and growth of our new native plant nursery for the Round House Center for Ecological Gardens in Wilton, Connecticut. This is the inaugural operational year of the nursery, and the Sales & Marketing Manager will play a central role in establishing our presence in the regional ecological and horticultural community. The position focuses on customer engagement, sales development, public communications, and helping the public access high-quality native plants grown through ecologically informed practices. As the organization grows, there is potential for this position to expand into a broader leadership role.

About Us

Ecoresilience Solutions is the hiring and operational organization supporting the Round House Center for Ecological Gardens, an emerging nonprofit ecological initiative based in Wilton, Connecticut. The Center is dedicated to ecological land stewardship, native plant conservation, sustainable gardening practices, and inclusive community education. Its work takes place on the historic Round House property, whose ecologically designed landscapes were developed over the past 15 years in collaboration with Darrel Morrison, a pioneer of Ecological Landscape Design.

Our new native plant nursery, launching in 2026, will expand access to locally grown native plants and provide a foundation for future ecological programming, public engagement, and educational opportunities. Ecoresilience Solutions supports these efforts through staffing, operational management, and organizational development as the Center grows into a regional resource for ecological gardening and native plant education.

Duties & Responsibilities

Identify, build, and maintain relationships with landscapers, ecological designers, restoration practitioners, garden centers, and homeowners.
• Develop and implement seasonal sales strategies in coordination with the Nursery Production Manager.
• Represent the nursery at farmers’ markets, ecological events, open days, and community programs.
• Manage digital communications, including website updates, email newsletters, and social media.
• Prepare seasonal plant availability lists, promotional materials, and educational content.
• Provide mission-aligned customer service and communicate ecological principles clearly.
• Collaborate with the Nursery Production Manager and Botanist to align marketing with plant availability, ecological priorities, and operational planning.
• Integrate ecological and botanical information into public-facing communications.
• Participate in planning for subsequent years as the Center expands its programs and offerings.

Education and Experience

• Minimum 3 years of experience in sales, marketing, communications, customer engagement, or business development.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate ecological concepts for diverse audiences.
• Experience with digital marketing tools, social media platforms, and basic analytics.
• Highly organized, reliable, and comfortable working in a startup-style environment.
• Demonstrated commitment to ecological gardening, native plants, sustainability, or environmental stewardship.
• Ability to work collaboratively with horticultural, botanical, and ecological staff.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Environmental Studies, Horticulture, Business, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
• Experience in a horticultural, ecological, or environmental setting.
• Familiarity with CRM systems, email marketing tools, and digital content creation.
• Experience representing an organization at public events, markets, or community programs.
• Interest in growing into a broader leadership role as the Center expands in future years.
