Job Description

Position Summary:

Ensure proper computer operation so that end users can accomplish business tasks. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all hardware and equipment to ensure optimal system performance. Troubleshoot problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end-user training and assistance where required.

age, quality of specimens, and programs and initiatives for the conservation and planting of trees.

Duties & Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

Administer and resolve assigned helpdesk tickets by receiving and responding to incoming calls and emails regarding desktop problems.
Perform onsite analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex system problems for staff, and recommend and implement corrective solutions.
Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot staff workstations and related hardware and software in order to deliver required helpdesk service levels.
Carry out computer equipment office move requests as assigned.
Prepare tests and applications for monitoring workstation performance and provide related statistics and reports.
Accurately document and resolve instances of desktop equipment or component failure, repair, installation, and removal.
Set up and support audiovisual equipment and applications used in meetings, programs, and events.
Demonstrate alignment with the Arboretum’s employee core values.
Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate or Bachelor’s degree, or in the pursuit of, in the Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent field preferred. Proficiency needed in Windows Operating System, Microsoft Office, and general knowledge of PC hardware and printers. Experience with Google applications required.

Success Factors:

Customer service oriented individual with strong oral and written communications skills, and the ability to effectively work with individuals of diverse ages and backgrounds.

Physical Demands: Requires some physical activity: limited lifting (up to 30 lbs.).
Work Environment: Work is performed primarily indoors, in an office setting, although travel within the campus among facilities is occasionally required.
Equipment: General office equipment, computer hardware, software, printers, network hardware, teleconference equipment.
Schedule: Position may require occasional evening and weekend hours.
