Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens Culinary Department is looking for Dishwashers!
We are looking for a flexible individual who is an independent worker and is excellent at taking initiative. Do you have dishwashing experience and/or experience helping prep food in a professional kitchen?
The Dishwasher/Prep Cook will be responsible for ensuring that cookware, trays, and utensils are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized. You will be working closely with the kitchen staff to keep their cookware stocked and the cafe team members to ensure that they have trays and utensils that are clean and ready for guests to use. You will also help the kitchen staff prepare food, as needed. This includes but is not limited to: cleaning, peeling, and cutting vegetables and fruit or slicing meat for the day.
Seasonal, Hourly, Non-exempt
$20 per hour ($16 base rate + tip pool)
12-24 Hours per week
Physical and environmental factors:
-Ability to stand for extended periods of time
-Ability to lift and carry heavy items up to 50 pounds
-Required to use hands to hold, carry, handle, or feel; required to reach with hands and arms
-Occasionally required to bend, lift, stoop, reach or climb

Duties & Responsibilities
-Collect all dishes, cookware, cutlery, and trays.
-Ensure all dishes, cookware, cutlery, and trays are properly sanitized before further use.
-Prepare take-out packing for grab and go meals.
-Assist the kitchen to prepare food needed for the current or following day.
-Clean kitchen tools and appliances in accordance with food and safety laws before use.
-Keep dishwashing area clean and organized.
-Operate dishwashing equipment, reporting any malfunctions for repairs to happen in a timely manner.
