Job Description
This position will work 3-10 hours weekly, primarily evenings and weekends.
Position Summary
This position facilitates and supports educational experiences and programming that emphasize the plant-people connection through content including home gardening, plant materials, plant crafts or garden arts, biodiversity, conservation and environmental sciences. The Intern assists in the facilitation of high-quality public programs for adult audiences including formal and informal programs, both online and onsite. The Adult Education Intern provides assistance in advance and during courses or programs, online and in-person and will be responsible for recording and distribution of class content.
Salary
$20.00 – Per Hour

Denver Botanic Gardens is currently seeking an Adult Education Intern in our Education Department! Read below to see if the requirements might be a good fit for you:
Duties & Responsibilities
Implements existing programs, troubleshooting and problem solving as onsite contact.
Monitors and records online class content.
Maintains recordings for editing and distribution.
Maintains constant communication with the team to ensure quick responses to current developments and efficient development of programs.
Communicates with the instructors, volunteers, staff and the public about class programs.
Assists the Education Staff in identifying, arranging and delivering high quality programs.
Keeps accurate records of attendance, programs, confirmations, or other matters as needed.
Works to assure the highest quality experience for all Denver Botanic Gardens visitors.
Maintains satisfactory working relationships with managers, co-workers, and others.
Maintains a positive, helpful, and solution-oriented demeanor when responding to or serving members and visitors.
Regular attendance at the worksite may be required. As with all positions at Denver Botanic Gardens, the incumbent must be in good performance standing to be eligible for remote work. Remote work is at the discretion of management at all times.

Position Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Must be capable of working independently and in a team environment
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Must be capable of moving and communicating for a long period of time.
Flexibility in changing circumstances and high energy required
Must have proven excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills in dealing with the public.
Ability to maintain stability under pressure and able to deal well with stressful situations.
Ability to be flexible and willing to modify plans when necessary, throughout the day.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
Knowledge of Microsoft Suite products, specifically Word, Excel and Outlook and Teams.
Ability to work overtime as necessary.
Must be a positive representative of the Gardens both internally and externally at all times.
Must work with respect and cooperation at all times with fellow employees and the public.
Must be committed to working safely at all times.
Education and Experience
High school diploma / GED and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Relevant experience is preferred, including previous experience in classroom settings, distance learning, video editing or online content management.
Additional Information
Travel:
Up to 10% travel required. Requires the ability to travel to remote locations (or other Garden locations) where environment may vary significantly.
