Do you want to build a professional development policy but not quite sure where to begin? Learn from Wave Hill’s experience on how to navigate this overwhelming process! From brainstorming, drafting, and implementation, there are many steps to consider in developing a thoughtful, supportive policy that encourages employee growth and development. Wave Hill will share insights from their policy development process, from asset mapping, departmental and institutional conversations, feedback, and lessons learned.

Participants will learn the essential steps for creating a professional development policy, including a general framework for writing the policy, gaining insights on the internal conversations to have during the brainstorming phase, systems for managing requests from staff, and suggestions for improvement.
