DALLAS, Texas, May 2, 2024 – Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden, an award-winning public garden, has named Gary Doubrava Jr. as its new Chief Financial Officer. He will be responsible for the financial, accounting, and audit operations of the garden and the Dallas Arboretum Foundation. A member of the Executive Team, Doubrava will also supervise the Accounting, Informational Technology, and Facilities teams.
Doubrava joins the Dallas Arboretum with significant nonprofit accounting and public accounting experience. Previously, he served as the CFO at the United Way of Tarrant County overseeing the overall financial operation with a team of 80, working with the CEO and executive team while also managing IT and facilities. Before that, he served as CFO at the Atlanta Botanical Garden for nine years where he helped lead the garden through rapid growth through expansion, increased operating profit with in-house ticketing software, and an $80 million expansion. He has also worked for the Georgia Aquarium as a controller and held other financial and accounting roles.

Doubrava added, “My prior experience as CFO at the Atlanta Botanical Garden makes me a perfect fit for this role. It’s an exciting opportunity to get back into the garden world especially as the Dallas Arboretum is a jewel in our region.”
He is a graduate of the Shawnee State University (Portsmouth, Ohio) where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting.
