Dallas, TX (Feb. 10, 2025) — The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden recently hired Austin Longacre as vice president of operations.
Longacre brings more than two decades of facilities management experience to the role. He has extensive knowledge in project management, process improvement, and the development of strategically deferred maintenance plans.
“We are thrilled to have Austin on board,” said Chief Operating Officer Amber Slayton. “Austin’s broad experience in managing complex construction and facilities projects will be instrumental as we embark on the execution of a new five-year strategic plan and development of a long-term master plan.”
As vice president of facilities and operations, Longacre will assist the chief operations officer by managing staff for facility operations and maintenance, planning and implementation of large projects, managing service contracts and more.
At Dallas College-Richland Campus, Longacre oversaw capital construction, maintenance projects, and new developments, working closely with architects, engineers, and contractors. He effectively managed multiple departments, led significant campus projects, and ensured operational efficiency, successful procurement, and the timely completion of all initiatives.
