Native Plant Conservation Campaign News: Last year, the American Public Gardens Association partnered with the American Society of Agronomy, Crop Science Society of America and the Soil Science Society of America to examine how North America’s natural areas and the native plants they support can help make our crops and food supply more resilient in the face of climate change, disease, and other growing threats.
The results are published in a special section of the journal Crop Science, released in November 2019.
The meeting connected agricultural researchers, botanical gardens and others to bring together diverse perspectives and expertise to formulate a roadmap for the conservation of food plants and their wild relatives in natural landscapes.
