Community Coordinator
In July 2024, Jeanette became the Community Coordinator. In this role, she supports the expansion and day-to-day operations of APGA’s professional communities. She previously worked for APGA as the Plant Protection Program Coordinator creating content for the Plant Heroes program (educational materials, social media, blogs, etc.), managing the Plant Protection Program store, and representing Plant Heroes at professional development.
Jeanette’s previous professional experience includes overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Calvin Ecosystem Preserve & Native Gardens on the campus of Calvin University, overseeing the day-to-day operations for Michigan Audubon, teaching programs as a summer naturalist at several Michigan State Parks, and working as a marine educator for the University of Georgia’s Marine Education Center and Aquarium. She holds a BS in Biology from Calvin University and a Masters in Community Based Education and Leadership from Stevenson University. Jeanette currently resides in Grand Rapids, Michigan. When not working, she enjoys cooking, gardening, traveling, and creating floral designs.
